We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant in General Internal Medicine (GIM) to join a dynamic and multidisciplinary medical team in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care, support acute medical services, and contribute to service development, teaching, and clinical governance in line with UK best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consultant-level care for acute and general medical inpatients
- Participate in Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and general medical ward rounds
- Provide specialist input for complex medical cases and multi-morbidity patients
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, allied health professionals, and specialty consultants
- Contribute to acute medical on-call rotas, including out-of-hours and weekend cover as required
- Support clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
- Supervise, mentor, and teach junior doctors and medical trainees
- Ensure care delivery aligns with NICE guidelines and evidence-based practice
Requirements
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience at consultant or senior specialist level in General Internal Medicine or related specialty
- Medical degree with completed specialist training in General Internal Medicine or a relevant medical specialty
- GMC registration (preferred) β candidates eligible for or in the process of GMC registration will also be considered
- Strong experience in acute medicine, complex medical care, and inpatient management
- Excellent leadership, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and high-quality patient care
- Willing to relocate in the United Kingdom
