Following the departure of the current post-holder, Merton Music Foundation is seeking to appoint a new Ensembles & Events Leader. Our vision is a borough where music resonates along the corridors of every school and echoes throughout the community.
This middle‑leadership position plays a key role in the strategic development of the charity’s programme of Music Centre ensembles whilst driving the operational management of our busy calendar of concerts and events. You will be a highly organised, process‑driven person with the ability to work self‑accountably whilst managing a varied workload of administrative, practical and musical responsibilities.
You will also be a skilled musician with experience of facilitating inclusive musical learning in youth settings and/or events management experience. This role involves leadership of one of the Foundation’s regular weekly ensembles, as appropriate to the skillset of the successful candidate.
There is flexibility to co‑create your typical working pattern across the MMF office and our music centres, with the option of some remote working by agreement. This role involves frequent Saturday and occasional evening work. All areas of musical specialism will be considered, but we are particularly interested in hearing from woodwind, string or piano players and/or musicians from a jazz background.
