Black Label Creations is a new, disruptive, and innovative private label supplier of finished nutritional supplements. We provide expert services in premium and bespoke product creation from concept to launch, selling finished units of a huge variety of nutrition products, as well as providing branding and product design services to our customers.
The NPD team is growing fast and we’re looking for a nutritional supplements enthusiast to join our mission and help create exciting and successful products. We want to chat with product developers in the supplement industry to join a vacant position in our team, junior or senior.
Black Label Creations are looking for a superstar product developer; highly motivated, intelligent, methodical, and creative. You could have a little experience, but be an incredible prospect, or more experienced with years under your belt. With a minimum of 2 years' experience working within the nutritional supplements industry, you will also have a background in nutrition and are on top of current trends within the industry.
As Product Developer, you will work closely alongside the Product Development team to assist on all NPD projects ranging from canned drinks to nutritional gels and sprays, in addition to powder based nutritional supplements. The role is varied, and you will also be working closely with the supply chain to source ingredients and cost the products, and above all getting hands on in the recipe kitchen developing new product recipes for our customers.
With a passion for nutrition, the opportunity offers new skills and learnings of the supplement industry, you will learn how to develop a huge variety of different nutritional supplements. There will be extensive coordination with other departments, suppliers, and clients, so you'll need a high degree of communication and teamwork skills.
Key responsibilities:
- To work within the Product Development team on all new and existing product development projects.
- To formulate new products based on customer briefs with knowledge of ingredient organoleptic properties and cost.
- To create and send customer samples, maintaining accurate recipe sheets and logging all required information.
- To adapt product recipes based on customer feedback.
- To create product specification sheets for customers.
- To source and quote ingredients and packaging used in the manufacture of each product.
- To ensure the smooth transition of projects from product development to production.
- To perform pre-production organoleptic tests.

Skills Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in New Product Development within the nutritional supplements industry. Preferably working in both liquids and powders, but powders as a minimum.
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and/or combined food science or food technology related discipline.
- Skills in product formulation are essential.
- Skills in project management.
- Skills and interest in process scale up from laboratory to factory.
- Knowledgeable in nutrition and dietetics.
- Good understanding of nutritional supplements.
- Well versed with Microsoft Excel.
- Good knowledge of basic math.
