Europes largest outdoor organisation for Black women and girls is seeking a Treasurer.

What difference will you make?

As Treasurer, you will play a key role in strengthening the financial health and sustainability of Europe’s largest outdoor organisation for Black women. Your expertise will directly support our mission to create safe, joyful, and transformative spaces in the outdoors — empowering thousands of Black women across the UK and beyond. You’ll help ensure we can grow responsibly, secure funding, and expand our impact in dismantling barriers to nature access and wellbeing

What are we looking for?

An accountancy qualification. Professional experience of applying finance and accounting awareness to operational departments. Expertise in financial or business development, or in establishing useful (business) partnerships, is preferred. Some experience of working with or in a charitable / not for profit organisation, or for an NGO or other statutory funder, is preferred. A proven track record of sound judgement and effective decision-making. A history of impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences. A track record of commitment to promoting equality and diversity. Knowledge, skills and understanding Willingness to be available to staff for advice and enquiries on an ad hoc basis. Good, independent judgement and strategic vision. An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of being a director in a Community Interest Company (CIC). An ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities Monitor the financial standing of the organisation and report to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis regarding cash-flow forecasting, income and expenditure, and the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources. Oversee the organisation’s financial risk-management process and report financial health to the Board of Directors on at least an annual basis. Ensure annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion. Provide support to the Executive Team to ensure that the organisation’s finances are responsibly managed, and invested for the betterment of the organisation’s work. Person Specification We are looking for a qualified accountant and we believe that this is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about our mission and who bring experience, skills, and expertise developed in a professional environment.
