An established and reputable machinery supplier in the Belfast area is currently seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (Diesel Fitter) to join their growing service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of plant and diesel-powered equipment both in the workshop and on customer sites.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on construction and agricultural machinery.
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Respond to service call-outs and breakdowns in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete all service documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and complies with relevant health & safety guidelines.
Ideal Candidate:
- Time-served Diesel Fitter or qualified Mechanical Engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Strong experience working with plant, agricultural, or heavy equipment.
- Competent in fault diagnosis and repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with major plant brands (e.g. Kubota, Thwaites, JCB, etc.).
