We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing renewable energy company for an experienced M&E Design Engineer with a background in Solar PV, electrical or mechanical engineering.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team delivering commercial renewable energy projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and coordination of Solar PV installations, working closely with sales teams, contractors, consultants and operations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities Liaise with internal sales teams, M&E contractors and consultants to gather project information.
Produce Solar PV yield assessments using PVSol or similar software.
Create rooftop layout drawings using Auto CAD.
Design panel layouts, cable routes and mounting systems.
Develop electrical schematics (with support from an in-house Electrical Engineer where required).
Produce wall layout drawings for electrical equipment.
Research emerging technologies and identify opportunities for design improvements and cost savings.
Prepare and update "as-installed" drawings following project completion.
Support the Operations Team by delivering accurate, high-quality design documentation.
About You You will have a technical background in renewable energy, electrical or mechanical engineering and be confident producing high-quality design work.
Auto CAD experience is essential, while training can be provided on specialist Solar PV design software.
Essential Criteria Technical qualification or relevant engineering experience.
Strong Auto CAD skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Flexible, motivated and committed to delivering high-quality work.
Desirable Experience within the renewable energy sector.
Knowledge of commercial Solar PV design, supply and installation.
Experience using PVSol or similar PV design software.
