We are working with a long-standing manufacturer who, due to an internal promotion, are now seeking to appoint their new Production Manager to join them at their facility in East Belfast. Reporting into and supporting the Operations Director and leading all site-based production, this will include:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day production of products, ensuring efficient operations, high quality standards, and continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices.
- Lead the production team (c30), optimise workflows, manage resources effectively, and deliver against cost, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
- Enforcing and improving safe working practices.
- Manage the manpower and equipment repair budget.
- Implement production schedules to meet customer demand and maintain on-time delivery.
- Take ownership of compliance with lean manufacturing processes.
- Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with ISO, HSE, and industry regulations.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years management experience within a production/process environment within an industrial environment.
- Demonstrable experience of lean continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Financial awareness and ability to manage budgets and costs.
- Competence in using production planning and ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience in one or more of the following is desirable:
- Educated to 3rd level in a related discipline.
- Batch processing/coatings experience.
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma certification.
