The Senior Accountant, EMEA is responsible for performing accounting operations and supporting financial and tax reporting processes across multiple EMEA regions. The Senior Accountant, EMEA will serve as a key support to the EMEA Controller in the UK. The role will be based in the UK on a remote basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform daily general ledger accounting activities across EMEA regions, including recording payrolls, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, bank transactions and lease accounting in NetSuite.
- Collaborate closely with global AP and AR teams to ensure smooth sales and purchase invoices processing.
- Create intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations to ensure accurate consolidated financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings for all entities.
- Perform periodic account reconciliations ensuring completeness and quality of Balance Sheet for EMEA entities.
- Support EMEA Controller in maintaining compliance with local statutory reporting and tax compliance in each region, including preparation of data for VAT reporting.
- Support the process of preparation and review of financial statements for EMEA entities.
- Support audits for EMEA entities (internal and external), providing documentation and ensuring audit readiness.
- Propose and implement process improvements to foster operational excellence.
Ideal Core Qualifications, Experience, Attributes and Skills:
- Experience preferably in SAAS/software.
- Experience with international accounting covering the United Kingdom and EMEA is a plus.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or part-qualified accountant preferred.
- Previous ownership of tasks within the month-end close process, including journal preparation, AP and AR processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews.
- Proficiency in global ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Quick learner, able to pick up accounting and finance knowledge on-the-go in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams across regions and external third parties.
- Effective communication, both written and spoken in English.
- Complete and proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
