Senior Accountant, EMEA

The Senior Accountant, EMEA is responsible for performing accounting operations and supporting financial and tax reporting processes across multiple EMEA regions. The Senior Accountant, EMEA will serve as a key support to the EMEA Controller in the UK. The role will be based in the UK on a remote basis.

Key responsibilities:

1. Perform daily general ledger accounting activities across EMEA regions, including recording payrolls, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, bank transactions and lease accounting in NetSuite.
2. Collaborate closely with global AP and AR teams to ensure smooth sales and purchase invoices processing.
3. Create intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations to ensure accurate consolidated financial reporting.
4. Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings for all entities.
5. Perform periodic account reconciliations ensuring completeness and quality of Balance Sheet for EMEA entities.
6. Support EMEA Controller in maintaining compliance with local statutory reporting and tax compliance in each region, including preparation of data for VAT reporting.
7. Support the process of preparation and review of financial statements for EMEA entities.
8. Support audits for EMEA entities (internal and external), providing documentation and ensuring audit readiness.
9. Propose and implement process improvements to foster operational excellence.

Ideal Core Qualifications, Experience, Attributes and Skills:

1. Experience preferably in SAAS/software.
2. Experience with international accounting covering the United Kingdom and EMEA is a plus.
3. Strong technical accounting knowledge, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or part-qualified accountant preferred.
4. Previous ownership of tasks within the month-end close process, including journal preparation, AP and AR processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews.
5. Proficiency in global ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
6. Quick learner, able to pick up accounting and finance knowledge on-the-go in a fast-paced environment.
7. Good attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
8. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams across regions and external third parties.
9. Effective communication, both written and spoken in English.
10. Complete and proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
