As Director, EMEA Financial Controller, you will play a strategic and hands-on leadership role in managing financial operations across seven EMEA countries. Reporting to the Global Corporate Controller, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, drive regional compliance, and be a critical partner in scaling the company’s international footprint. This position is ideal for a forward-thinking finance leader with deep technical expertise, strong operational instincts, and experience in high-growth software or SaaS environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Regional Leadership: Oversee financial control, reporting, and operations across all EMEA entities. Serve as the primary finance leader in the region with responsibility for governance, compliance, and controls.
- Statutory and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements, tax filings, and audits in all seven countries. Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders to manage cross-border complexities.
- US GAAP and Consolidation: Own the translation of local financials into US GAAP for global consolidation. Coordinate monthly close processes and ensure timely, accurate group reporting.
- Strategic Partnership: Act as a key business partner to regional GMs and global executives, contributing to strategic decisions on growth, headcount planning, and operational investments.
- Audit and Risk Management: Lead regional audit engagements (statutory and group). Maintain and enhance internal controls and risk frameworks across all EMEA entities.
- Team & Vendor Management: Build and lead a regional finance team or manage third-party accounting, payroll, and tax providers as needed. Ensure performance, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
- Systems & Process Optimization: Drive automation, process improvement, and reporting enhancements using NetSuite, Power BI, and other finance tech tools.
- Entity Set-Up and Expansion Support: Partner with legal and tax teams to launch new entities or restructure existing ones as the business grows in new EMEA markets.
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least 10+ years of progressive international finance experience.
- Proven track record of financial leadership at Director or Senior Manager level, ideally within a US-headquartered software or SaaS company.
- Deep understanding of multiple EMEA statutory environments and strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Skilled in managing complex, cross-border operations and consolidations.
- Advanced experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and BI/reporting tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
