Black Country Women\’s Aid (BCWA) is an established charity operating across the Black Country and wider West Midlands, providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. Our services include advocacy, civil remedies, court support, individual and group support, and access to therapeutic interventions. All services are client and needs-led.

Community Services Directorate

Within this directorate, the following vital services are delivered:

  • Community Domestic Abuse Support Services (Sandwell, Walsall, and Dudley)
  • Black Country IRIS (primary care) educator and advocacy service
  • Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Services (Black Country)
  • Black Country Sexual Abuse Forum
  • Black Country Counselling Service
  • Domestic and Sexual Abuse Children and Young People\’s Service (Black Country)
  • West Midlands Stalking Service
  • Ask Marc (Male Abuse Referral Centre)

Position: Domestic Abuse Advocate (Sandwell) (Maternity Cover)

This is a 12-month full-time maternity cover position (37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm), based in Sandwell. Salary: £23,809.50 – £25,838.68. Closing date: 20 August 2025. BCWA reserves the right to close the vacancy early if enough applications are received.

Candidate Profile

We seek someone with experience working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse, both in one-to-one and group settings. The role involves caseload management, risk assessment, needs assessment, support planning, and case review. The successful candidate will provide high-quality frontline support to victims at highest risk, working within a multi-agency framework including MARAC and local partnerships. We value self-driven, conscientious, and ambitious individuals.
