Black Country Women’s Aid is seeking a part‑time Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse in the Family Court system.
Base Pay Range: £15,169.46 – £17,316.97 (equivalent to a full‑time salary of £25,282.44 – £28,861.62, depending on qualifications and experience).
Closing Date: 09 January 2026
All interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact and support for victim/survivors and their children throughout the Family Court process.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports to the court that capture the impact of domestic abuse on families and children.
- Provide subject matter expertise on domestic abuse to court officers and staff, delivering training and advice to improve understanding of abuse dynamics.
- Work with cases in the Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley areas, liaising with the Wolverhampton or Telford Family Courts.
- Maintain accurate caseload records and manage time effectively to meet court deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be female (Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010).
- Right to work in the UK and ability to produce relevant documentation.
- Experience in safeguarding, counselling, social work, law or a related field is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and compassion.
- DBS checks are required at the relevant level.
