Overview
The postholder will provide data science analytical expertise to support the organisation's population health priorities and contribute analytical projects within the System limb of the Population Analytics function. Responsibilities
- The postholder will apply a range of analytical and statistical methodologies relevant to population health data, producing coherent overviews of population demographics and characteristics.
- They will work with multiple data sources from population health, patient experience, cost and workforce metrics.
- They will support complex evidence‑based insight analysis on the burden of population disease.
- They will support complex evidence‑based insight analysis on health inequalities and inequities.
- They will advise non-analytical report users in the interpretation of population insights.
- They will support complex evaluations of commissioned service intervention impact and costs.
- They will support the team in the delivery of project plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the project.
- They will triage and identify solutions for emerging data science questions and projects, deciding on approach with Data Science Team colleagues.
- They will work in, and promote, modern open‑source data science languages such as Python, R, Julia or other languages.
- The postholder will be required to work on projects across the whole Population Analytics team as directed by the Head Data Scientist.
