Head Office Location: Telford, Shropshire - this position is hybrid between the Telford office and our client's sites in the West Midlands.

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (basic).

Contract: The role is being offered as a full time, permanent PAYE position.

Our client are a Facilities Maintenance company, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance with commercial and retail clients across the UK. They are looking for someone to join their Maintenance Department as an Electrical Services Supervisor.

Role Summary

The Electrical Services Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing the quality, consistency, and performance of our client's Electrical Maintenance Services. The successful candidate will split their time between their office in Telford and various client sites, supporting the technical development of the engineering team, auditing completed works, reviewing quotations, and driving supply chain collaboration. The role will also include 'on the tools' days each week to support with Electrical works volume as required. The role is hands-on and people-focused, ideal for a qualified and experienced Electrical professional looking to step into a leadership position. In addition to the salary, the role has the benefit of a company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational & Quality Oversight
    • Conduct site-based and desktop audits of completed works to assess quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
    • Identify trends in substandard performance and lead interventions to raise standards.
    • Review and approve high-value or complex quotations before client submission.
  • Technical Support & Escalation
    • Act as the technical escalation point for engineers, helpdesk personnel, and clients regarding Building Fabric-related issues.
    • Provide guidance on remedial strategies, materials, and scope feasibility to ensure correct outcomes.
    • Attend site during high-risk or business-critical jobs to provide leadership and assurance.
  • Team Leadership & People Management
    • Line manage the team of Electrical Engineers.
    • Support and monitor engineer performance through: Corrective and Preventive Actions, Performance Improvement Plans, Disciplinary procedures (with HR support).
    • Handle grievances, annual leave, and general personnel issues with sensitivity and fairness, escalating to outsourced HR partner when necessary.
    • Lead regular team toolbox talks and one-to-one reviews.
  • Supply Chain Development
    • Build and strengthen relationships with wholesale suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
    • Work with the Operations Manager to identify betterment opportunities in procurement and delivery.
  • Client & Compliance Engagement
    • Attend client-facing meetings to present engineer performance data and recommend service innovations.
    • Participate in third-party audits or accreditations to demonstrate and evidence delivery standards.
  • Systems & Reporting
    • Use email (Outlook), spreadsheets (Excel), and basic reporting tools confidently.
    • Maintain accurate records via the CAFM system (BigChange) - full training will be provided.
  • Out-of-Hours Escalation Support
    • While not part of the formal on-call rota, the role requires flexibility to respond to critical issues outside working hours on an ad-hoc basis.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential - Fully Electrically qualified [Minimum requirements: NVQ level 3, AM2 and 18th Edition]. Testing and Inspection Qualifications [2394&5 or Equivalent]. Proven experience as an Electrician within commercial maintenance sectors. Demonstrated leadership experience within a field-based engineering environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to influence, manage conflict, and provide constructive feedback. Comfortable using basic computer systems (Outlook, Excel). A Full UK Manual Licence with no more than 3 points.

Desirable - Fire Alarm Experience, NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, Prior experience using a CAFM system (e.g. BigChange), IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent H&S training.
