Our client is a successful and fast-growing Facilities Management and MEP Projects company operating across the UK. With a strong track record in delivering Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects ranging in value from £1 million to £10 million, they offer innovative, high-quality solutions to clients in the industrial, commercial, and educational sectors. As part of their continued growth, our client are now seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor (Projects division) to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in project delivery within a company that values quality, collaboration, and professional development.
Role details
- Salary - £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
- Office location - Telford, Shropshire (Hybrid working available for 1-2 days in the office)
- There’s a possibility for a company car package for the right candidate
- Working hours - Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Key responsibilities
- Management, preparation, and issuance of all contractual notices to both clients and subcontractors
- Creation, issue, and agreement of Subcontract Orders, including negotiation and agreement of contract terms, schedules, and commercial provisions
- Ongoing commercial management of the supply chain in line with agreed contract terms
- Full adoption and day-to-day utilisation of our construction management software, Procore (training provided)
- Preparation and management of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Collation and submission of interim Applications for Payment
- Agreement and close-out of Final Accounts with clients and the supply chain
- Commercial reporting to senior management with clear, accurate, and timely information
- Supporting project teams with contractual and commercial advice where required
About the successful candidate
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction, ideally within M&E or building services
- Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial risk management
- Demonstrable experience issuing formal contractual correspondence and notices
- Experience preparing and issuing Subcontract Orders and managing subcontractor accounts
- Comfortable working with structured digital systems and defined commercial processes
- Organised, commercially aware, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
Relevant experience / qualifications
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline or equivalent industry experience with a minimum of 5 years in a commercial / quantity surveying role within the construction industry
