We’re currently recruiting a Lead Automatic Door Engineer in the South East region for our client, a globally successful Entrance Systems company across the commercial sector, predominantly servicing Airports, hospitals, retail, hotels, restaurants, offices and historic buildings.
Location: South East region
Salary info: £21.60 per hour (inside the M25 South East areas) and £19 per hour (outside of the M25 area)
Job type: Full time, permanent
Travel time: Paid Door to Door
Working hours/Call out information: Working hours: 42.5 hours per week – Standard pay between - 06:00 – 17:00 Time and 1/2 between – 5:00 – 06:00 & 17:00 – 21:00. Double Time between – 21:00 – 5:00 & Saturday PM & Sunday all day. Whilst on call you'll receive £20 standby allowance per day (£170 per week) for on call and if you're called out past 00:00 you'll receive an £80 rest payment. Call out rota is around 1 in every 10 weeks.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting, mentoring, and providing on-the-job training to newly employed engineers during their initial onboarding period, typically over the first few weeks of employment.
- Working alongside new starters in the field to ensure safe working practices, compliance with EN16005 and adherence to company standards and procedures.
- Acting as a technical point of reference for less experienced engineers, providing guidance on fault diagnosis, repairs, and best practice installation methods.
- Leading and undertaking high-value installations and complex projects where senior-level expertise is required.
- When needed, attending challenging sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex faults that require advanced technical knowledge and experience.
- Supporting management by feeding back on training progress, technical competency, and development needs of newly employed engineers.
- Service, maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on Automatic Doors; Sliding, Swing, Revolving & Disabled Access.
- Following EN16005 guidelines.
- Offering fantastic face to face customer service.
- Good communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaising with clients and management to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Willingness to partake in the on-call rota.
- Completing paperwork accurately and on time.
- Ensuring Van stock is kept up to requirements at all times.
Successful Automatic Door Engineers must have the following key skills and experience:
- Previous experience in the Automatic Door industry.
- EN16005 qualification.
- A full UK driving license.
- The ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Good communication with internal and external stakeholders.
