Are you a practical, hands-on engineer looking for a mobile role with training and development opportunities? This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading nationwide commercial vehicle specialists. Our client is expanding their team and are keen to speak with engineers from a wide range of mechanical and technical backgrounds. This is a genuinely varied role where no two days are the same.
Salary information: From £38,000 per annum (depending on experience). On target earnings of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum with paid travel time and call-out/standby rates.
Job type: Full time, permanent position.
Your duties could include:
- Servicing and repairing plant trailers (non-HGV)
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing tail lifts and ancillary equipment
- Working on low-voltage commercial vehicle electrics (training can be provided)
- Light welding and fabrication work
- Basic hydraulic fault finding and repairs
- Undertaking LOLER weight testing and inspections (full training provided if required)
- Working independently in a mobile, field-based environment
- Delivering high standards of customer service
Preferred Skills / Knowledge: If you have one or more of the below, we’d be interested in speaking with you:
- Welding experience
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Practical, hands-on mindset (essential)
- Basic hydraulic knowledge
- Agricultural vehicle engineering background
- Commercial vehicle refrigeration experience
- Plant, trailer, or heavy equipment servicing experience
