Europe Data Science Manager - Design Experience (14-month fixed term contract)

The buzzing Canva London campus features several buildings around beautiful leafy Hoxton Square in Shoreditch. While our global headquarters is in Sydney, Australia, London is our HQ for Europe, with all kinds of teams based here, plus event spaces to gather our team and communities. At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Leading the Europe data team in developing a data strategy, roadmap, and resource allocation that maximizes impact for 3D & Mockups, Photo AI groups and Charts team.
• Ensuring the Europe data roadmap is well aligned with the Design Experience product strategy and Data Science subspecialty direction.
• Identifying opportunities for collaboration and cross-group and cross-supergroup sharing amongst the Europe data scientists.
• Facilitating connectivity and accountability amongst the Europe data team, improving Canvanaut engagement and retention.
• Shaping the future of data’s role in product lifecycle through experimentation, storytelling, and strategic influence.
• Helping us extend data literacy and curiosity throughout the region.

You’re probably a match if:

• You have experience leading high-performing data teams in a high-growth, product-led environment.
• You’re confident partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions.
• You can shape data roadmaps and partner effectively with engineering and product stakeholders.
• You’ve effectively coordinated complex work across teams spread across regions and time zones.
• You’re skilled with tools like Snowflake, DBT, Segment, and Looker/Tableau.
• You value kindness, empathy, and a culture of development and collaboration in your leadership style.

Design Experience is responsible for building powerful yet simple tools that empower anyone to design anything. Within this space, Europe Data Lead partners across the groups in the region to uncover opportunities, shape strategy, and define what success looks like — from early idea formation through to long-term measurement.
