An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Council Tax Team as a Council Tax Officer. Reporting to the Council Tax and Benefits Team Leader, this role will be demanding yet rewarding and no two days will be the same. We are looking for an individual who is seeking an exciting challenge and will join the team as we head into a new year of dynamic change.
Working within our busy Council Tax Team, you will process enquiries and maintain the Council Tax database while providing exceptional customer service by offering advice to customers on the telephone and face‑to‑face when required. The successful candidate will be highly organised with an attention to detail, possess proven administrative experience and have previously worked in a customer‑facing environment. You will also be competent at prioritising and working on your own initiative. Previous knowledge of the Council Tax System is desirable but full training will be provided to the right candidate.
You will be expected to work in the office during initial training; thereafter the role is currently hybrid, with a requirement to work from the office on a rota basis of approximately 1–2 days a week. This role will require a basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS check). All offers of employment will be made conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory DBS check.
