About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles to ensure they are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with UK standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on vehicles (cars, vans, HGVs or PSVs depending on business needs).
- Conduct diagnostic testing and fault-finding using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Carry out MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
- Replace or repair defective parts, including brakes, suspension, clutches, exhausts, and engines.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete job cards to required standards.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Liaise with service advisors, supervisors, and customers to provide updates on repair status.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair methods.
- Full UK driving licence (Category B; HGV/PSV licence desirable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
