The Vacancy Uniserve Group, the UK’s leading customs specialist, is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to bolster our team at George Baker Shipping. About the Role With 40 years of experience and a growing team of over 100, we’re ambitious and looking for someone to join our journey. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on our business direction and client strategy. You’ll work closely with George Baker to provide top-tier advisory services and training on international customs and trade matters. Responsibilities: Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of customs and trade regulations. Continuously learn and expand your expertise in this ever-evolving field. Lead research and advisory projects for clients, ensuring exceptional service. Leverage your commercial acumen to cultivate your own client portfolio and secure new business. Contribute strategically to leadership meetings, marketing plans, and company development. Effectively manage your time while juggling projects, client meetings, and internal tasks. Attend client and internal management meetings, including monthly trips to HQ in the East of England. Who You Are: Client-focused and commercially aware, with a passion for building strong relationships. An outstanding communicator, both verbally and in writing. A proficient project manager with a knack for juggling internal, external, and administrative needs. An expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment while also demonstrating independence. Qualifications & Experience: Degree or equivalent industry experience. Solid understanding of import/export procedures, trade practices, and documentation. Experience handling customs special procedures applications. Proficiency in classification and interpreting rules of origin. Proven experience in public service, consulting, or logistics (with a focus on international trade, customs, and excise) is highly desirable. Full UK driving license.
