BKP Waste & Recycling are experts in environmental services, with their brand new Transfer Station designed in-line with the highest standards of engineering and design, and Industrial Packaging Decontamination Process to allow for maximum reuse of large containers and recycling of plastic and steel components.
BKP are looking for a mobile chemist to join the team. This role is based in the field, consisting of waste listing, packing, and transportation from customer sites within the UK. In-field Technical Assessment will be required at times, and the role will also consist of desktop technical assessment for the company during periods of necessary cover. Full ADR training and WM3 training will be provided.
Job Description:
- Visiting customer sites to list, pack, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams as required
- Technical Assessment in the field in order to safely and compliantly transport these waste streams
- Pre-acceptance assessment of incoming loads in accordance with EA guidelines for all group Waste Management Centres
- Liaison with Operations and Sales Team to obtain correct technical information to enable accurate waste processing
- Liaise with recovery and disposal outlets in the UK, and with GEL operational sites, to provide current costs to the sales and commercial teams
- Direct liaison with customers where agreed with the appropriate business manager
- Compliance with all appropriate legislation
- Providing holiday and general cover for existing Technical Assessors
- Ensuring the pre-acceptance sampling and testing procedures are followed, and amended as necessary
Minimum of BSC in Chemistry, or related subject. Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with an hour's unpaid lunch. 21 days holiday rising by 1 day for each complete calendar year up to a maximum of 25 days. Salary from £34,000 per annum DOE. Health and Wellbeing programme. Private medical and dental healthcare programme.
