How You'll Make a Difference
- Assist with calculations, advice and reporting requirements for shareâscheme annual reporting (ERS and EMI40 returns) and share schemes: review qualifying status for taxâadvantaged schemes, advise on tax implications of providing options to staff versus consultants, prepare valuations and meet compliance requirements.
- Support the OMB team in all areas of compliance and advisory work across all taxes, principally share schemes and the Enterprise Investment Scheme, but also including income tax, capital gains tax and corporation tax.
- Enterprise Investment Scheme: review the qualifying status of companies, prepare advance assurances and assist with the preparation of the relevant compliance statements.
- Supervise and train more junior members of the team.
- Assist, as required, to prepare or review tax computations (corporate, partnership and personal), advisory memos/reports and associated HMRC filings.
- Assist both clients and colleagues with adâhoc taxârelated queries.
- Communicate with clients and attend client meetings; prepare notes and ensure actions are followed up.
- Ensure that files are prepared with relevant correspondence and a clear audit trail to demonstrate how conclusions have been reached.
- Where there are perceived risks, communicate this and propose potential solutions.
- Assist with a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines are met and relationships are managed and developed.
- Assist with the preparation of advisory reports and memos.
- Research technical tax issues and explain findings in a clear and concise manner.

- Experience: Experience in the majority of areas outlined in the dayâtoâday responsibilities.
- Skills: Excellent people skills to maintain client and staff relations, excellent writing skills â drafting written reports, managing staff, positive and proâactive approach with clients and colleagues, confidence to act independently.
