We are seeking an experienced and multifaceted Business Analyst / Project Manager to help drive forward delivery of an ambitious AI and Data roadmap as well as a critical financial systems transformation. This role sits at the intersection of technical implementation and business process re-engineering as we migrate our 10-person finance function from Xero to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as well as support our AI and Data strategy roadmap execution.
In addition to the finance platform implementation, the role places equal emphasis on shaping and executing the Data and AI strategy, as well as ensuring seamless system integration. You will collaborate closely with data engineers and implementation partners to design robust data models, establish AI-driven processes, and oversee the integration of key systems. As part of a larger implementation team, you will bridge the gap between finance stakeholders, data engineers, and our external implementation partners. This position requires a professional capable of managing technical complexity (data models, migration logic) while assisting teams through a significant period of operational change.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- PROJECT & REQUIREMENTS MANAGEMENT
- Lead requirements gathering from finance stakeholders during the critical Xero-to-Business Central migration.
- Lead requirements gathering from Business stakeholders for the AI and Data roadmap delivery.
- Complete tool analysis and review for specific Finance process, Options analysis and report back.
- Own the creation and prioritization of the AI and Data implementation backlog, managing scope across workstreams.
- Maintain clear documentation of business rules, workflows, and dependencies.
- Participate in workshops to map current-state processes (Xero) to future-state (Business Central) workflows and challenge implementation vendor on an AI and Data driven set up.
- Produce detailed requirement specifications for development and configuration teams.
- FINANCE PLATFORM IMPLEMENTATION AND TRANSITION (XERO TO BUSINESS CENTRAL)
- As is process mapping for key finance cycles: AP, AR, GL, and Reporting.
- Facilitate deep understanding of financial configuration options within Business Central.
- Design data migration strategy from Xero, including comprehensive data validation and cleansing requirements.
- Ensure data integrity during migration and establish robust control frameworks.
- FINANCE INTEGRATION SUPPORT
- Process mapping of existing and to be acquired entities.
- Planning for new and existing entities processes to transition to BKL Group processes.
- Business partnering and change management to ensure a smooth transition.
- Ad hoc support with M&A integration.
- DATA & ANALYTICS
- Design the data cube framework for financial analytics and reporting.
- Translate Business Central transaction data into structured data models.
- Work with the Practice Engine integration architecture to define data flows and transformations.
- Specify Power BI data models, calculated columns, and measures for financial dashboards.
- Document data lineage and ensure auditability of analytical datasets.
- STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- Act as the primary point of contact between the finance team, implementation partners, and technical team.
- Manage expectations around timelines, scope, and Business Central capabilities.
- Provide regular status updates and clear escalation pathways.
You’ll Be Ideal for This Role If You Have:
- Experience delivering finance system and data/AI projects as a Business Analyst or Project Manager.
- Hands-on involvement in ERP implementations (ideally Xero → Dynamics 365 Business Central).
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, and producing clear specifications/user stories.
- Experience working with data engineers on data models, integrations, and migration/data quality.
- Ability to manage multi-workstream backlogs, scope, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Good understanding of finance processes (AP, AR, GL, reporting) and control frameworks.
- Skilled in documentation, data validation, workflow design, and change facilitation.
- Confident communicator able to simplify technical concepts and lead workshops.
- Comfortable challenging vendors and driving data- and AI-led future-state design.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and proactive in embedding AI and data-driven thinking.
