We are seeking a Payroll Assistant to join our team based in Stoke-On-Trent. The role will involve managing a diverse client portfolio providing payroll and bookkeeping support to those clients.

As a Payroll Assistant your role will include:

  • Pension scheme submissions
  • CIS preparation and submissions
  • Responsible for the day to day processing of client payrolls over multiple pay frequencies including weekly/fortnightly/four weekly and monthly.
  • Apply knowledge of pension schemes, including AE process and pension upload to pension providers website.
  • Keep up to date with new payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Proactively liaise with HMRC and assist with technical enquiries when they arise.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.

The Ideal Payroll Associate will:

  • Have experience of Payroll within an Accountancy practice
  • Be able to complete CIS returns
  • Have an ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a high concern for accuracy.
