The Trainee Accountant will support the preparation of accounts, bookkeeping, and compliance work for a range of clients while completing a structured ACCA training programme. This role is ideal for someone beginning their professional accounting career and looking for hands-on experience alongside formal qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts preparation: Assist in preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies.
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and reconcile accounts.
- VAT returns: Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Client communication: Respond to client queries and request missing information.
- Administrative duties: Filing, scanning, organising client documents, and supporting the wider team.
- Software use: Work with cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
Skills Required
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles or willingness to learn.
