We are looking for a Junior/Trainee Accountant to join our Cobham Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and small groups.
  • Assist with audits for larger clients, including planning, fieldwork and completion under supervision.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts, including posting journals for accruals, prepayments, depreciation and payroll.
  • Prepare control reconciliations and analytical review schedules.
  • Work closely with managers and partners to support the delivery of accounts, audit and advisory assignments.
  • Liaise with clients in a professional and timely manner, building strong working relationships.
  • Support special projects for clients seeking finance, acquisitions or wider business advice.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Working towards ACA, ACCA or a similar professional qualification.
  • Audit experience with SME owner-managed businesses.
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Sage, Xero and CCH would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and colleagues.
  • A positive attitude, great work ethic and willingness to learn.
