Overall Purpose
Responsible for all aspects of the Personal Tax function at the Solihull office reporting to three directors.
Brief Job Description
- Oversee personal tax compliance for approximately 800 clients including HNWIs and trusts.
- Provide complex tax technical advice to clients and colleagues in connection with income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning.
- Ensure that statutory tax filing deadlines and client expectations are met by the personal tax staff. Monitor tax return completion and keep the directors updated on progress.
- Maintain and develop tax technical knowledge.
- Manage WIP, billing and recoverability for the personal tax department.
- Oversee the personal tax staff including reviewing work, assisting with technical matters and undertaking staff appraisals.
Requirements for the role
- CTA / ATT qualifications or equivalent experience in personal tax.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
