As we continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive and diligent Procurement Director to lead our supply chain function on procurement strategy - providing strategic leadership and supplier management to drive alignment across the group on how we deliver against our business objectives in a cost-effective and compliant manner.
As Procurement & Supply Chain Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of BJF Group’s supply chain and procurement processes. You will oversee the entire supply chain operations, leading on procurement, logistics and inventory management to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness whilst maximising value. This appointment will also see you developing and implementing strategies that align with our goals and market demands, including sustainability initiatives and risk management plans.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Substantial operational procurement experience within the Construction, Building Services or FM sector
- Strong commercial negotiation skills
- A deep understanding of supply chain management principles
- Excellent communication skills and strong leadership qualities
As Procurement Director you can expect to make an impact in delivering the following:
- Develop initiatives that maximise benefits from emerging technologies to include enhancing Procurement Analytics with Power BI
- Coach and lead the purchasing team and organisation in your area of expertise
- Develop and drive commodity business strategy
- Provide strategic supply base management including supplier selection, negotiations, and supplier relationship/performance management
- Drive continuous improvement in indirect material procurement and contracting
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favourable terms and conditions
- Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals
- Understand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout

Requirements:
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS)
- Professional Diploma in Purchasing & Supply (Level 6) or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Experience of single and 2 stage procurement routes from setting project specific procurement strategy to final draft of subcontract documents
- Commercial Negotiation scope, price, payment terms and conditions of purchase or sub-contract
- Knowledge of contract law and vendor management
- Excellent analytical abilities & strong negotiation skills
- Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities

- Experience of utilising Power BI for enhancing Procurement analytics
- Complementary experience relating to design, work winning (estimating) and Construction project life cycles is desired but not essential.
