Working with a large portfolio of public and private sector clients, our UK based organisation comprises several divisions including Mechanical & Electrical, Construction, Projects, Reactive, FM, Small Works and other associated trades. Here at BJF, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our exciting and expanding construction biased business, where you can help support the Project Services division as a Multiskilled Operative.

Position

Day to day responsibilities to include:

  • Respond to reactive calls, carry out first fix where possible and scoping quotes for repair where first fix is not possible, ensuring minimum downtime.
  • Carry out all planned building / fabric maintenance tasks as per program and keep accurate auditable records of works planned and completed.
  • To undertake small to large fabric repairs and upgrades to existing buildings both internally and externally.
  • Covering, where possible, all aspects ranging from (but not limited to) masonry, carpentry, ironmongery, roof repairs, kitchen fitting.
  • To scope both the task and material requirements to achieve the required results.
  • To ensure that the site is kept in good decorative order internally and externally - and to given specification and ensure timely completion.
  • Working within all Health and Safety criteria and processes relevant to work activities.
  • Show a proactive approach to Health & safety in the work environment and take the necessary steps to ensure risks are mitigated.
  • Client facing, therefore maintaining high standards of customer care.
  • Be flexible and undertake other reasonable duties to accommodate operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works / tasks completed within KPI’s.
  • Experience in domestic, commercial, or industrial fabric engineering.
  • A proactive, positive, solution-based attitude.
  • Repairs following a Periodic Electrical Installation Condition Report, including minor works certification.
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works / tasks completed within KPI’s.
