Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined portfolio of owner-managed business clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships, proactively identifying client needs and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular client meetings (in person and remote) to review accounts, discuss business performance, and advise on upcoming obligations.
  • Respond to client queries promptly and professionally, ensuring high satisfaction at all times.
  • Support client retention and identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships through additional services.
  • Oversee the delivery of year-end statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and management accounts for portfolio clients.
  • Review work prepared by the team before it reaches Partner level, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor workflow and deadlines across the portfolio, ensuring all compliance obligations are met on time.
  • Maintain up-to-date client engagement letters, fee agreements, and KYC/AML documentation.
  • Prepare and present client-facing reports, financial summaries, and advisory commentary.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants, including offshore delivery staff, providing direction, review, and professional development.
  • Delegate work appropriately, supervise progress, and ensure review points are addressed before escalation.
  • Support a positive team culture that holds high standards, celebrates achievement, and encourages continuous improvement.
  • Act as a conduit between the delivery team and senior Partners, escalating technical or client issues where appropriate.
