Responsibilities
- Service, install, and break‑fix a wide range of weighing and inspection equipment, from static scales to automatic check weighing and automatic weigh‑price labelling systems, to metal detection, X‑ray and vision inspection.
- Investigate complex technical issues such as electrical/mechanical breakdowns and network‑related problems.
- Provide customer training on equipment.
- Manage and maintain effective stock levels of parts needed for repairs.
- Project a professional image of the department and company to both internal and external customers (uniform provided).
- Maintain company vehicle in a clean and organised fashion, ensuring all maintenance requirements are met according to the vehicle‑driver policy.
- Maintain a library of backup items for customers.
- Maintain in good order all company tools, such as hand tools, ladders, laptops, etc.
- Attend all required training courses and keep health‑and‑safety training up to date.
- Adhere to policies and procedures relating to health, safety and quality management.
- Maintain calibrated weights and ensure compliance.
- When calibrating/verifying equipment, meet all legal standards and perform work to the highest standard.
- Obtain all qualifications Bizerba deems relevant for the engineer to carry out day‑to‑day duties.
- When required, prepare detailed reports on incidents or calls to assist the line manager.
- Participate in out‑of‑hours work when required.
- Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner and to expected standards.
- Perform roll‑out and refit activities as requested to fulfil business requirements.
- Attend head office as required in conjunction with business needs.
- Work to company KPI and SLA targets.
- When necessary, accommodate overnight stays for training or task completion.
Qualifications and Profile
- Full, legally valid UK driving licence.
- Valid Safety Passport/ECS or equivalent (details provided).
- Willingness to undertake UK travel.
- Willingness to work out of standard hours to meet customer needs.
- Data‑driven organisation skills: able to prioritise multiple objectives and adjust plans as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive response to business needs.
- Experience in working with service desk or similar support teams.
- Ability to independently monitor progress and meet deadlines.
