We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and highly effective teacher to the position of Second in Department for Physical Education .
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious colleague looking to develop their leadership skills and support the continued success of a thriving PE department. Working closely with the Head of Department, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving high standards of teaching and learning, supporting curriculum development, and promoting participation and achievement across all key stages.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for Physical Education.
- Have the ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes.
- Support the leadership and management of the department.
- Contribute to the wider sporting and enrichment programme of the school.

Requirements:
- Current employment at Bitterne Park School.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven track record of effective teaching in Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Demonstrated leadership skills or experience (e.g., mentoring, coaching, curriculum development).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting student wellbeing.
- Reflective and proactive approach to professional development and school improvement initiatives.
