At BITS Group, we look after the technology for more than 200 UK organisations, including charities, schools, property managers and professional services firms.

Our mission is to deliver security-led, people-first technology that protects growing businesses and strengthens how they work.

We're an ambitious, fast-growing business, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

This isn't a role where you'll sit on a helpdesk queue for years.

As BITS grows, so will your responsibilities, your skills and your opportunities.

If you're driven, hungry to learn and want your work to shape where a business is heading, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You’ll own tickets from first contact through to resolution rather than passing them along a chain, and you’ll be a trusted, familiar face for our clients.

Some days that means resetting MFA or sorting out a mailbox; other days it’s troubleshooting a firewall, onboarding a new client or helping roll out Intune across a whole organisation.

You’ll work on things like

  • Resolving support requests by phone, email, remote session and on site visits, with a focus on getting it right first time and keeping users informed
  • Building strong relationships with client staff and stakeholders, and representing BITS confidently and professionally
  • Administering Microsoft 365 for our clients, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Share Point, Teams and One Drive
  • Managing user onboarding and offboarding, licensing, device setup and Windows and mac OS endpoints
  • Supporting our security stack, including Acronis for endpoint protection and backup, Perception Point for email security, Wiser for awareness training and CIPP for tenant hardening and Secure Score
  • Looking after network kit such as firewalls, switches and wireless access points, plus Vo IP and connectivity
  • Monitoring, patching and proactive maintenance through Super Ops, our PSA and RMM platform
  • Keeping clear, accurate documentation so the whole team can pick up where you left off
  • Getting involved in projects, migrations and new client transitions
  • Delivering one-to-one help and small group training for client staff
  • Who we’re looking for

You're highly driven and take ownership.

You're confident in front of clients, whether that's walking a managing director through a problem or calming a frustrated user, and you can explain technical issues in plain English.

You want to keep learning, and you see a growing business as an opportunity rather than a risk.

You'll also bring

  • At least 2 years' experience in an MSP environment, supporting multiple clients
  • Strong, hands on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
  • Working knowledge of Intune or similar device management
  • A solid grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
  • Good organisation and the discipline to manage your own workload
  • A full UK driving licence, as the role includes on site work
  • Nice to have
  • Experience with Super Ops, Acronis, CIPP or other similar MSP tooling
  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 or MD-102
  • Exposure to Cyber Essentials, Google Workspace, Azure or QNAP
  • An interest in automation, scripting (Power Shell) or AI tools
  • What you’ll get
  • Genuine room to grow, with your role developing as the business does
  • Paid certifications and real support to build your skills
  • Variety across sectors and technologies, so no two days are quite the same
  • A supportive team where your ideas are heard, including our workflow optimisation and automation work
  • Working hours of Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00

If you're ambitious, confident with people and ready to grow with an exciting business, we'd love to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at BITS Group

✨Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

✨Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
