This is a great opportunity to gain real legal experience within a short space of time. The role is particularly suited for law graduates with great communication skills, a can-do attitude, and who are not afraid to be thrown into the deep end. You will gain case management experience, work under pressure, and have excellent exposure to client contacts and advocacy.

We are seeking a bright, energetic, and hardworking individual with a minimum of 12 months of continuous paralegal experience to join our Mental Health department. This is a highly specialized area of Human Rights Law, focusing on mental health, mental capacity law, and public law. As a Mental Health law Legal Paralegal, you will play a vital role in advocating for and representing some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society. This position requires a strong commitment to helping people and a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Completed a law degree and/or Legal Practice Course (LPC)
  • Hold a UK Driver’s License and have full access to a car

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day case management
  • Independently run files from start to finish under supervision
  • Meet with clients regularly to take instructions and provide clear and concise legal advice
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in professional meetings, at hospitals, and courts
  • Advocacy and negotiation

Required Skills:

  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients
  • Ability to present yourself in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills to manage your own caseload
  • Attention to detail in office-based tasks and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with difficult or challenging clients

Based in Bristol, this position requires regular travel to clients.
