Bishopsgate School is seeking an exceptional and inspiring Teacher of Humanities to join our academic team on a Part Time (0.6 FTE) basis from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a flourishing Humanities provision within a school that places intellectual curiosity and academic excellence at the heart of its educational philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Humanities to pupils in Years 6-8.
  • Design and deliver engaging, cross‑cultural, and enquiry‑based lessons that foster critical thinking and independent thought.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to develop a stimulating curriculum and strengthen cross‑curricular links.
  • Inspire thoughtful discussion and champion the Humanities as an essential foundation for understanding society, culture, and global change.
  • Contribute to the enrichment of the Humanities curriculum and broaden opportunities for students.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Genuine passion for Humanities education.
  • Enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity and academic ambition.
  • Experience teaching Philosophy & Ethics (ideal).
  • Experience of teaching Geography, History or related subjects.
  • Ability to inspire thoughtful discussion and confident enquiry.
  • Belief in the transformative power of education to broaden horizons and shape character.
  • Commitment to nurturing both academic achievement and personal growth in every pupil.
