Reporting to the Head Porter and Head ofEstates, this is an excellent opportunity to join the Estates team and play akey role in ensuring the smooth, safe and secure operation of the School. Weare seeking a reliable, adaptable and proactive individual to undertakeportering, security and caretaker duties, helping to maintain the highstandards of presentation and service expected across the School site.
The postholder will be responsible for thesecurity of School buildings and grounds, including locking and unlockingfacilities, monitoring alarm systems and CCTV, controlling access to the site,and carrying out regular patrols. They will support the safe departure ofpupils at the end of the day, liaising with transport providers and ensuringthat pupils requiring alternative transport arrangements can travel homesafely.
The role also involves receiving anddistributing deliveries, assisting with the preparation of facilities forSchool events and functions, maintaining the cleanliness and presentation ofkey areas of the site, and supporting contractors, visitors, pupils and staffas required.
The ideal candidate will possess strongcommunication and customer service skills, together with good literacy,numeracy and basic IT skills. They will be able to work both independently andas part of a team, demonstrate sound judgement, and maintain a professional andcourteous approach at all times. Previous experience in a caretaking,portering, facilities, security or similar role would be advantageous but isnot essential.
The post is full time, 40 hours per week,working 3pm to midnight, Monday to Friday.
