Job Details:

  • Grade: Grade B, SCP 3 (£24,796 per annum pro rata)
  • Hours: 7.5 hours per week, Term Time only, Permanent

Overview:

Role:

We are looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant who will be responsible for the care and supervision of pupils before and after meals, covering the full interval between the close of the morning sessions and the beginning of the afternoon session, in accordance with the Trust policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the washing of hands of pupils.
  • Supervise entry and exit into and from the dining hall by pupils.
  • Assist pupils during the meal service.
  • Ensure pupils maintain high standards of behaviour and report any persistent misbehaviour, especially bullying, as appropriate.
  • Clear up any spills during mealtimes promptly.
  • Assist in wiping up tables and chairs when necessary and at the end of the meal.
  • Supervise children in designated areas to ensure good conduct in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Initiate games and activities where appropriate, whilst maintaining broad supervision.
  • Supervise children in classrooms during inclement weather.
  • Engage pupils in safe, enjoyable and creative activities.
  • Perform basic first aid for minor incidents and accidents.
  • Maintain accurate and relevant incident/accident records.
  • Attend any training courses relevant to the post to ensure continuous professional development.
  • Work closely with other members of the lunchtime team.
  • Present oneself as a role model to pupils in speech, dress, behaviour and attitude.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to sick and injured children, taking appropriate action and informing parents and school staff as necessary.
  • Carry out any other duties that are commensurate with the post.
