About this Role

Are you a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant, who has strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils, teachers and support staff? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school team and play a key role in ensuring pupils reach their full potential. You will need to demonstrate patience, resilience and adaptability, as well as the ability to support students with varying academic, social and emotional needs. A commitment to safeguarding, an understanding of behaviour management strategies, and a flexible, team‑focused approach are essential in helping pupils engage, progress and achieve their potential.

This is a permanent appointment, working 37 hours per week, Term Time Only.

St Wilfrid’s R.C College is part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust which is one of four Trusts in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. The Trust includes five Secondary and twenty-five Primary Schools across South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham.

Enhanced DBS checks are mandatory for all school staff. The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of pre-employment checks.
