Contract: 20 hours a week, Term time only + 10 days; Monday to Friday - 8.30am - 12.30pm

This is a temporary position until the return of the substantive post holder.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who can work with individuals/in small groups with children in Key Stage 1 or lower Key Stage 2. The position will require someone who is able to manage behaviour effectively and ensure that pupils are supported pastorally within a positive and inclusive environment, actively contribute to planning and promote progress, be flexible and adaptable to the demands of the teaching assistant role, and have good organisation and communication skills.

Candidates must be able to work as part of a team and have excellent written and verbal skills. The successful candidate will be committed to the values and ethos of our Catholic school and will join our team of dedicated, hardworking Teaching Assistants who all strive for high standards for all of our pupils.

St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School is part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust which includes five Secondary and twenty-six Primary Schools across South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham. Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust safeguards and protects its students and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with South Tyneside Child Protection Procedures. Enhanced DBS checks are mandatory for all school staff. The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of pre-employment checks. An online search will be completed for all shortlisted candidates.
