Bishop Burton College is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Maths to join our Maths and English department and play an important role in supporting students to develop their confidence, numeracy skills and mathematical knowledge.
The Maths department works with students across the College to help them achieve the qualifications they need for further study, employment and their future careers. Through engaging teaching and practical examples linked to students' vocational courses, we help learners understand the relevance of maths to everyday life and the workplace.
About the role
As a Lecturer in Maths, you will plan, develop and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, helping students to achieve positive learning outcomes. You will teach up to 840 hours per academic year, while contributing to the wider curriculum, student support and quality assurance activities within the College.
You will create an engaging and supportive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour effectively and monitor student progress. Working closely with colleagues, group tutors and College managers, you will contribute to supporting students' progress, conduct and welfare.
The role will also involve maintaining accurate student records and registers, using College systems to track progress, working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to the effective operation of the faculty.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher who can inspire students and make mathematics accessible, relevant and engaging.
Experience of working within an FE college, teaching a related subject, an assessor qualification, or experience within a relevant industry would also be advantageous.
