St Vincent's Catholic Primary School is part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust. You will be employed by the Local Governing Committee.

Fixed Term Contract for up to 12 months, with the potential to become permanent following a staffing review.

St Vincent's Catholic Primary School is seeking to employ a Support Assistant Higher Level with a specialism in PE & School Sports. The role is to support specific pupils and small groups with learning needs as well as providing teaching cover for Teachers' PPA.

The PE specialism would involve leading and delivering PE lessons across the school plus before and after-school sports clubs.

Your duties would include supporting teachers with the care, education and assessment of the children. In particular, you will provide support in the following areas:

  • Lead and deliver high quality PE lessons and school sport across all year groups.
  • Provide teaching cover for Teachers’ PPA (Planning, preparation and assessment time) and absences as required.
  • Run sports clubs and sports tournaments.
  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils.
  • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
