St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy is part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust. At St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy, we believe that excellent attendance is the foundation of success. We are seeking a dedicated and pro-active person to join our pastoral team as an Attendance Officer to play a vital role in monitoring, promoting and improving student attendance; ensuring that all students have the best opportunity to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and tracking student attendance.
- Following up on absences promptly through calls, emails, and home visits where necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records using our school MIS and attendance systems.
- Providing regular reports to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
- Working closely with students, parents, pastoral teams and external agencies, supporting interventions for students with persistent absence and contributing to attendance strategies.
We are looking for energetic individuals with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who will impact positively in this role. Confident communicators, able to establish an excellent rapport with our students and families, persistent in their approach who feel passionately about making a difference in the lives of young people. St Benet Biscop is a popular and oversubscribed school which is highly regarded within the community and we offer a high-quality education in a Catholic / Christian environment. The post holder will be based at St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy, Bedlington but will be expected to attend off site meetings and regularly undertake home visits where required.
