About The Role

The Business Development Executive will support Retailer Brand growth by owning accurate tracking and reporting, generating actionable insights, and coordinating change‑management projects on time.

Main Responsibilities

  • Tracking & Reporting (Lead) - Maintain core trackers (customer plan actions, risks/issues, key milestones, cross-functional asks) and ensure clear visibility of “what’s changed” and “what needs a decision”. Produce simple summaries for the Business Development Manager/Director: highlights, lowlights, key movements, and recommended next actions.
  • Sales Buddy - Act as the day‑to‑day point of contact for a defined set of smaller / lower complexity customers (or customer contacts), ensuring queries are managed and routed correctly. Coordinate internal inputs required for customer responses (R&D, Technical, Ops, Finance), ensuring the latest information is consolidated and consistent.
  • Change Management Projects - Coordinate change‑management projects end‑to‑end for designated customers/products (e.g., spec updates, pack/artwork updates, compliance‑led changes, range housekeeping).
  • Competitive / Market Intelligence (Support) – Maintain a simple “outside‑in” tracker: competitor moves, tasting, in store visit, customer signals, and category notes relevant to Retailer Brand. Support basic benchmarking summaries for internal discussions.
  • Business Foundation & Ways of Working (Support) – Keep key documentation current and centrally accessible (trackers, action logs, change logs, meeting notes). Support consistent routines that reduce duplication and improve pace (templates, standard packs, disciplined follow‑ups).

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience within FMCG across marketing, sales, or category roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with confidence working with data, trackers, and reporting.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise updates and maintain accurate documentation with strong version control.
  • Understanding of, or interest in, FMCG and retail customer ways of working is advantageous.
  • Exposure to product or packaging change processes, Stage‑Gate methodology, S&OP concepts, or product costings is beneficial but not essential.
  • Demonstrates strong personal accountability and a proactive, “can‑do” mindset to deliver results.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, with confidence in following up and coordinating inputs.
  • Numerate with strong commercial curiosity and analytical thinking.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, bringing structure, clarity, and pace.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Committed to continuous learning and personal development.
