Job Title: Pack Team Lead

Location: Gateshead Team Valley, UK

Direct Reports: Production Operator, Palletiser, Machinist

Are you ready to lead a dedicated team and ensure the smooth running of our packing production? We are looking for a motivated and experienced Pack Team Lead to join our team at Gateshead Team Valley. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for production excellence, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 5-10 employees, ensuring all training requirements are met.
  • Oversee packing production, ensuring orders are delivered on time and meet customer specifications.
  • Drive shift efficiency to maximize output and minimise waste while adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Stand in for the Shift Manager when needed.
  • Liaise with the Product Lead to ensure product quality and schedule adherence.
  • Train and verify competency on all relevant quality control checks and train Production Operators.
  • Perform GMP audits, risk assessments, and ensure all stock rotation, line clearance, and traceability procedures are followed.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects and support the Shift Manager in delivering Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in food manufacturing and food handling.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Level 2 Food Safety.
