We’re looking for a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our technical team and play a pivotal role in supporting Biscuit International’s European factories to successfully supply UK retailers, high street discounters, and brand owners. Flexibility is essential as occasional out-of-hours work may be required. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building strong relationships across borders, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact for UK customers and Biscuit International sourcing entities.
- Ensure all manufacturing sites meet UK customer codes of practice and support audits, including action close-outs.
- Develop and implement the BIUK Food Manufacturing Standard, aligning with UK customer requirements.
- Manage third-party auditing teams and support continuous improvement across sourcing sites.
- Provide technical support during UK customer audits and maintain accurate portal information.
- Respond to customer and sourcing entity enquiries promptly (within agreed SLAs).
- Represent Technical at C2L Project Meetings and communicate key updates to the wider team.
- Maintain a single source of information for all cross-sell SKUs and factories.
- Track costs related to audits, portals, SEDEX/SMETA, and travel.
Qualifications / Experience
- Degree in Food technology or equivalent Food Science related Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality / Technical Managerial role in a food manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in UK Retailer supplier food manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of retailer practices and frameworks.
- Analytical.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Highly motivated and capable of independent analysis.
- Dedicated and tenacious.
- High level of resilience.
- Deliver accurate and concise reports regarding project(s) status.
- Food safety level 3 Lead Auditor trained.
- Possess a good verbal and written communication.
- Strong time management and organization skills are essential.
- The ability to work in a fast moving rapidly changing business is essential.
- Proven track record in managing the delivery of multiple types of projects.
- Food safety level 4.
- Ability to communicate in Dutch and/or French would be considered an advantage but not essential.
- Understanding of SAP.
