We are currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics & Planning Supervisor to join a well-established industrial business operating across the food and health & beauty sectors. The business specialises in importing, repackaging, and distributing products across a national customer network. This is a hands-on management role, responsible for supervising the Logistics & Planning team and ensuring all activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with operational and business objectives. Working on-site five days per week, you will manage a team of coordinators while overseeing daily planning, freight activity, customer requirements, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising the day-to-day activities of the Logistics & Planning team
- Managing daily and weekly workloads across multiple operating divisions
- Coordinating transport routes, fleet utilisation, and resource planning
- Managing relationships with third-party logistics providers
- Supporting S&OP and forward planning activity
- Ensuring customer orders and KPIs are achieved in full
- Managing team performance, training requirements, and daily operational activity
- Leading daily team briefs and supporting cross-functional coordination
- Monitoring operational performance, reporting, and process improvements
- Supporting compliance, audits, H&S, and operational standards
- Providing operational support and cover across logistics functions when required
Key requirements
- Previous experience within logistics, transport planning, or supply chain operations
- Experience supervising or managing operational teams
- A background within fast-paced operational planning or multi-drop logistics environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands effectively
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- SAP knowledge desirable
- Understanding of transport operations and driver regulations advantageous
- Availability to start immediately or at short notice preferred
