Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our client\’s team at their Leeds depot. You\’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the delivery fleet, which includes up to 130 vehicles ranging from vans to artics.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule vehicle routes to maximise efficiency and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Allocate drivers and vehicles in line with operational needs and legal requirements (e.g. drivers\’ hours, Working Time Directive).
  • Liaise with customers, drivers, and depot teams to maintain high service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and transport legislation.
  • Produce transport reports and analyse performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the wider transport team during peak periods and coordinate across multiple depots.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a transport planning role, ideally within multi-temperature or FMCG logistics.
  • Experience planning 40+ multi drop routes per day.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK geography and routing systems.
  • Familiarity with transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet operations.
  • Proficiency in Paragon, TMS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
