Summary: We're looking for an experienced, confident, and proactive Transport Manager to take ownership of our client's Ipswich Traffic Office - overseeing a fleet of 24+ vehicles and leading day-to-day transport operations. This is a hands-on, fast-paced leadership role where you'll be at the heart of safe, compliant, and high-performing logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, inspire, and support drivers, dispatchers, and operatives across multi-shift operations
- Manage fleet compliance, vehicle safety, and operator licence requirements
- Drive key KPIs across safety, service delivery, and cost efficiency
- Ensure full compliance with transport, environmental, and Health & Safety legislation
- Champion a strong safety culture, including robust near-miss reporting
- Build positive, productive relationships with internal departments and external customers
Experience:
- Proven experience in transport or logistics management
- National CPC qualification (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of transport, environmental, and H&S compliance
- A commercial mindset with experience managing performance and costs
- Confident leadership qualities and excellent communication skills
- Good knowledge of the local area and the flexibility to travel when needed
