This leading service and aftersales business provides engineering support to customers in the UK and worldwide. They support a well-established OEM producing machinery for the food, environmental, paper and metal industries. Their service offering covers service and support, spare parts, equipment refurbishment and optimisation and inspections. They are now looking for a Field Service Engineer with a mechanical / electrical background to join the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing on site maintenance and engineering support on large scale machinery with a mechanical, electrical and combustion focus.
- Optimising customer equipment, conducting process inspections and site audits.
- Commissioning of new and refurbished equipment.
- Carrying out diagnostic, fault-finding work on machinery and finding solutions to rectify issues.
- Attending call-outs and machine break downs.
- Producing safety documentation and compiling detailed survey reports.
Person Specification:
- An established, qualified or apprenticeship trained engineer with a split bias with both mechanical and electrical knowledge. Experience in combustion engineering would be a bonus.
- Experience in machinery such as industrial ovens, coolers, conveyors or similar would be advantageous.
- An experienced Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Field Engineer or Workshop Engineer.
- Sound knowledge of electrical / electronic controls.
- Able to travel in the UK and when necessary overseas to attend to customer requirements. International travel is likely to be every couple of months for 2-4 days at a time.
- Full UK driving licence.
