A household name with a comprehensive network of branches across the UK, this company supplies to retail customers and businesses with a very wide SKU range of products. The business is very stable financially and operationally, and despite some challenging market conditions, has outperformed its competition through a quality service offering and strong customer focus. It operates a branch network spread across the UK, with a trunking network and central planning function.

In this role you will manage all movement of product from supplier to branch, and from branch to customer using carriers. This involves a complex array of in-house fleet and sub-contracted transport. The role also encompasses responsibility for regional outbases, holding stock and providing a next-day delivery solution. In addition to day-to-day operations, you will also be involved with network development, warehouse design and capital investment projects.
